Description

Le Boulay is our little farm just outside the village of Le Bourg d'Iré, in the commune of Segré in the Anjou Bleu region. Covering a total of two hectares, the farm consists of two orchards, a meadow, a pond and two main gardens where we grow our vegetables.
Ideal for escaping the daily grind and reconnecting with nature, getting back to basics and contemplating the simple things around us.

The setting

In the middle of the countryside, fields and trees as far as the eye can see, wild animals (this isn't a safari either), but owls, frogs and cows may want to sing at night...

The spots

The terrain is flat and easy to access, even by camper van.
Pitches depend on the weather, the season and whether you want to be close to the house or not.
Shade is available under the trees.

The sanitary facilities

At present, toilets and showers are in the house, to be shared with us.
Drinking water is available in the garage (cold water). It is not possible to connect water directly to the camper/caravan.

The amenities

An electric hook-up under the shed if required.
Access to the barbecue is free, and we can provide cooking equipment if required.
A fridge and freezer can be provided in the communal areas on request.
You'll have access to a washing machine in our house, as well as the necessary equipment for hanging out laundry outside or under cover. Please note that we have a natural reed sewage system, so it's very important to us that you use natural products, otherwise we'll be able to help you out in exceptional cases.

The activities

The village of Le Bourg d'Iré is a 20-minute walk away, and only a few minutes by car or bike.
There's a small grocery store selling local, organic and/or bulk produce, which also serves as a bar. A guinguette at the lake on Thursday evenings in season.
Post office at the town hall.
The nearest town is Segré, about 15 minutes away by car, where you'll find supermarkets, restaurants, bakeries, tobacconists, magnificent churches and lots of nice things to visit.
The market is held on Wednesday mornings, Friday evenings and Saturday mornings.
Angers is 45 minutes away and Nantes 1h20 by car.
There's lots to do in the area, and we'll be happy to advise you on the spot if you need help.
An educational organic farm 5 minutes away by bike, well worth a visit.
Documents are available for visits.

Other things

On request in advance, we'll be happy to lend you our Canadian tent (sleeps 3-4), rent out our bikes, share our garden fruit and vegetables, chicken eggs etc., so don't hesitate to send us a message if you have any questions.
We hope you'll enjoy your stay here, or make a peaceful stopover during your trip.

Rules

We love animals, and of course they're welcome, but please pick up after them (compost them) so you don't step in poo when you go for a walk!
However, there are no enclosures between the properties, so keep an eye on your animal friends - it would be a shame to have to chase them for several kilometers because the dog has seen a rabbit...
There's a deep, unenclosed pond in the grounds, although it's difficult to get to, so watch out for your children!
Smokers, please make sure you don't throw your cigarette butts on the ground!

Possibility of breakfast (€7 / person)

Depending on the season, coffee/tea, bread butter jam/jelly, granola.
hot breakfast available for 10 euros per person (to be booked in advance) with eggs etc. (English style) in addition to the basic breakfast.
