Description

In the middle of the fields, I offer wild camping.
You'll have neither water nor electricity, but you'll be under a pine forest in the middle of fields, with a view of the Pyrenees on one side, and the Montagne Noire and Pic de Nore on the other.
The panorama is superb and the silence is golden!
As a bonus, you can watch the Carcassonne fireworks live on July 14.
The sea, the mountains and Spain are all just an hour's drive away.
Culture: Cathar castles, museums, exhibitions and music festivals all summer long.

The setting

In the middle of fields, without any noise, under a pine forest, you'll have the impression of being completely isolated from the world.
An ideal place for nature and ecology lovers, as I keep part of the land around the pine forest as meadowland to allow local flora and fauna to preserve their biodiversity.
The property is fully fenced.

The spots

Under the pine forest, the ground is flat and covered with pine needles, making for a soft carpet even if you don't have a mattress in your tent ;)
Access to the site is via a dirt road that's fairly easy to reach by car.
If you prefer full sun, you can also set up on the grass in front of the pine forest, where there's plenty of room.
Please note that I only offer wilderness camping.
I'm a private individual, not a campsite, and the land is not serviced.

The sanitary facilities

As explained above, this is wild camping.
You have no water, no toilets, and the site is not serviced.
Dry toilets are planned, but for the moment there's nothing, so bring water cans for your personal needs.
I can help you out if you have any problems, but I myself only live with rainwater collected in underground tanks.

The amenities

You will, however, have wifi, as I have (email hidden)There are also the necessary networks for all laptops.
For a small extra charge, I can provide you with an extension cord connected to my house, but only during the day.
If you wish, you can charge your mobiles in the house free of charge, but only during the day when the sun is shining, so that they can be charged by the solar panels.
Of course, it's forbidden to light fires on the premises, as there's a high risk of fire.

The activities

The plot is located on the outskirts of a small village close to Carcassonne.
There are all the local activities available: hiking, cultural sites (museums, Cathar castles, libraries, etc.), the sea less than an hour away, the mountains less than an hour away, the Lac de la Cavayère a few kilometers away for swimming and water sports.
There are also restaurants, shops, etc.
Although isolated, you're at the center of a tourist region where everything is possible for travelers.

Other things

We can't welcome you on Sundays, so please don't choose Sunday as your arrival day.
In the village, two kilometers away, you'll find a grocery store, bakery, butcher's shop, bar and pizzeria.
Carcassonne is around ten kilometers away.
A Leclerc center is about 5km away. So everything's within walking distance if you like.

Rules

You're welcome to stay with me if you accept these small constraints:
As I said, fires are forbidden (barbecue for example). There is too great a risk of fire under a pine forest. Smoking is therefore also forbidden. (But you can smoke on the path if you have a small pocket ashtray to crush your butt).
Once you've set up your tent, you can access the site at any time you like - there are no restrictive hours, and you're completely free. Just a point of clarification: Sunday is a closing day, but only for arrivals.
You can also bring your pets, provided they don't kill the cats, as I myself have 7 cats roaming free on the site. If you have a dog, the site is completely fenced in, so he can romp around the whole site without any risk of running away.
Then the rules are only those of good manners in the respect of the other one, the respect for nature and for the ground which I thank you for leaving in perfect state when leaving.

  • Clean, quiet grounds in a pine forest, we were made to feel very welcome,
You can sleep safely on the site,
The ground is dry grass, not dusty, perfect for the children who had a great time.

  • Everything was perfect, the welcome and the garden under the pine forest, what a pleasure, thank you Catherine :)

  • A very pleasant hostess, despite our late arrival.
A really great setting, we can't wait to come back for the round of the Cathar castles.

  • Home Camper reserves beautiful surprises, Catherine is a wonderful hostess, birth of a beautiful friendship :)
Her pine forest is a little corner of paradise, we cross a pretty wasteland and we settle down in the shade of the pines, simply, a real return to nature, calm and serenity, with as a bonus the little lights of Carcassonne in the distance, a thousand little fireflies that light up the peaceful night. A stopover not to be missed and to which I will return soon with an unconcealed greed.
