Description

Quiet bivouac site on the banks of the Meuse.

The setting

You'll be alone on the plot, so you can be sure of peace and privacy. There are 1.5 hectares of meadow and undergrowth situated opposite the cycle path we call "La voie verte."

It's a quiet, wild place with a lovely view of the hills.
You can fall asleep in the peace and quiet, listening to the owls!

The spots

The terrain is flat, the space for pitching the tent mowed (the rest of the plot is only grazed in winter to encourage biodiversity).
You'll camp under the newly planted orchard. The sheep are close by, their paddocks enclosed.

If you're lucky, you'll be able to see the beavers, but you must be quiet to observe them.

The sanitary facilities

You'll be camping "à l'ancienne" You'll bring your own water for drinking as needed There's a water tap at 7-800m on the top of the village for filling bottles and if you're nice, we can bring you some jerry cans to fill up;)

The amenities

You'll be able to build a fire for cooking, or to liven up the evening with a campfire.
There is also a barbecue grill.

We can provide a solar shower to rinse off after a good day's sport or swimming!
We can lend a solar panel for changing laptops (USB 5volts).

The activities

You can fish in the Meuse, or take a dip directly from the plots.
Anchamps is a nice little village, surrounded by forests. There are some great hikes nearby, including the famous Dames de Meuse loop.
The cycle path is also nearby.

Other things

It seems obvious and natural, but sometimes it's good to be clear:
Campers are asked to leave the site as clean as when they arrived, and to light fires only in the designated area.

We value the tranquillity of the site and only accept campers who respect the environment and animals... No parties, no exuberant installations: marquees, generators...
Scouts de France, Scouts d'Europe and S.U.F, welcome!

Rules

If you are independent, we may not be on site or available when you arrive, so please make your own arrangements.

Trust is a principle!

  • Absolutely magical... you take a little path wondering where you're going to end up and there... a real little paradise... the place is just magical... a bbq grate tree welcomes you... air of primed fire... lentout at the water's edge... just perfect...

  • This is the second time I've booked at Freddy's and the second time I've been delighted!

    A perfect place to unwind.
Thanks again Freddy and see you soon ????

  • Not super swayed by this, the second picture is not something we saw or encountered..(maybe we were looking in the wrong direction or it's dated?) otherwise very basic..woke up every few hours due to traffic on the other side. For the money, I'd book a campsite.

  • A very nice place right next to the Meuse, with small facilities and a mailbox full of documentation about the surroundings.
    The night is very peaceful.

  • More than a bivouac, a little piece of paradise. Fishing, swimming and my son saw a beaver. Extremely friendly welcome.

  • Thank you second good stay on Freddy's land
The kids loved the little corner where they could go down on the board to soak their feet :)

  • Very nice ???? Just a quiet place at the river

  • Very quiet place ! The traffic on the road in front stops as soon as the night falls.
We will return it is on!

  • Extra place on the edge of the Meuse in the heart of nature. Freddy's welcome is great!

  • Small corner of nature very pleasant to put its tent, to make a fire and even a bath! Freddy is very welcoming, he had prepared everything for our arrival!

  • Great place for a moment in the middle of nature, very nice owners
    To be done again! Thanks

  • Great place, in the middle of nature, hidden from the road behind a small forest, at the edge of the river that we do not hear.
You can hear a little the road on the other side of the Meuse, but the traffic remains calm after the sunset.
    I recommend it!

  • Frédéric and his wife are very nice and even if they are not with you on their land, they will be there to listen to you in case of need.

  • Very beautiful stage in the heart of nature! Magnificent view, place and small fire place very charming! And even a small bath in the Meuse for the most courageous. Excellent the mailbox, we feel really welcomed there! We will keep an excellent memory of it! Thanks again to Freddy !

  • Perfect we even saw beavers!!!

  • Really a great welcome, a lot of kindness. We really felt the desire to make us spend the best possible time despite the weather, it is certain we will return! Thanks again ????

  • Really a nice and quiet place on the Meuse river ! A lot of nice little features (fire place, seats made of raw wood, access to the river via a ladder cut in a trunk, solar shower corner, documentation available in a clever way,...) which testify that the owners are practitioners. I had the visit of Freddy and his girlfriend who are very nice :-) and discreet. In short, I will come back !!! :-)

  • Lovely camping spot near the water. You have to walk a few hundred meters from the car, but there is a small cart to transport your stuff. Communication with Freddy was very clear and easy. Swimming in la Meuse is great, there's not much current and the water is not too cold. Enjoyed the place, would definitely recommend!

  • Great stay from A to Z, from welcome to departure. Claire and Freddy are very kind and generous hosts, with a real sense of welcome. We appreciated their open-mindedness and the beautiful setting in which they welcomed us.

We will definitely come back to this haven of peace.

  • Super nice, sleeping near the Meuse with some sheep. very quiet.
