Description

We are a humble homestead of craftsmen nestled in rural Latvia on the banks of the Salaca River. We met on the road some many moons ago and after years of traveling here and there we decided that it was time to dig our roots down. We have a big organic garden, horses, chickens, pigs and maybe something else while you are here. We spend the green season outside harvesting wild plants and berries, gardening, and outdoor creative projects. We are craftsmen who specialize in weaving tools. We are also crafters of all sorts including medicines, herbs, wine, moonshine, dairy products, preserves, natural Building, etc! We place a large emphasis on wild food, so it may very well be a part of your everyday.

The setting

the land we dwell on is part of a National park. The river , the Salaca, is mystical and full of peace. There is red sandstone cliffs and even a little cave and all around is forest. Here the forest is full of plenty of riches like bilberries, raspberries, strawberries, lingon berries, mushrooms! juniper, and plenty of other green allies. Its very peaceful here and you will enjoy the nature here for sure

The spots

There are several options for parking. Closer to our home or down by the river on a field with dry toilets, fire place, gypsy sauna and quiet nature.

The sanitary facilities

Water is always accessible and same with toilets. The river too ;)

The amenities

wireless internet near house. Electricity from an extension chord. out door cooking set up. We have all the goodies. We also have outdoor pizza oven:)

The activities

Forests in Latvia are open to all. Our property is large but you can walk in any forest here. The river is quiet and nice and boating is easily arranged.

Other things

We have a large organic garden which is possible to share fruits and vegetables. Also farm fresh eggs.

  • Just great. For our first camping of the season and trying out one of the very few home camper hosts in Latvia, I am so happy I have chosen Clare's offer. The campground is beautifully located in a meadow by a river with red cliffs. From where you are, you don't see the property so you get a very good sense of wilderness. But the best isn't this. It is the welcoming, right away we where invited by the fire, a good chat, a bowl of warm soup and all the week'end passed by in great company. It is all about good vides after all. Also I do not regret I took the breakfast option !
