In general, if you like nature and simplicity, you're at home with me ;)

My house is being renovated, so it's always a bit of a work in progress, inside and outside... I try to keep the sanitary and camping areas as clean as possible and I count on the campers to do the same :)

The garden campground is not a "cheap conventional campground" so, no, there are no electric hookups on the sites and you can't get to them by car, since they are in my garden, below the house (see picture 3) or in the valley! To get to the pitches around the house, you will have to carry your stuff on the "slope" (Corrèze is not Beauce ;) on... 53 m, maximum.
For the edge of the pond and the pitches in the woods, you have to count 200 m on the slope.
Avoid the suitcases with wheels and train before! :D

The setting

Isolated site ! Very little unnatural noise, no night light, no traffic, no pollution... 100% nature with a view on the valley (meadows and forest)!
A silent bitch at night and no rooster! But nature makes noise in summer, even at night ;)
Of course, when it happens that a fighter plane trains in the area or that a ULM flies over the valley, you can hear it ;)
For the moment, motorcycles and quads are very rare... as long as it lasts...
The industrial wind turbines (planned to be 200 m high because of the lack of wind!...) are not yet there and we are fighting hard so that these machines to collect subsidies leave the region, the fauna, the nature, the inhabitants and the tourists alone!
With all the mixed forests growing on its sides, the valley is beautiful in autumn.

The spots

I propose 3 flat pitches in sun and half-shade for small or medium tents (up to 3 applications and 4 to 6 tents) next to and below the old barn (mowed lawn or pine needles and sawdust, flower beds and fruit trees. View of the valley).
In 2018, I created a new special large tent site. The platform is 6 x 12 m (dirt floor, no shade, green window on the valley).
And 3 or 4 others, far from everything (accessible by foot only +/- 250 m), in the woods, near the pond or the stream (for bushcraft fans or "Into the Wild" fans... without the bus ;)

----- > When you first contact me, please give me the size of your tent(s) so that I can make an optimal distribution :)

The pitches are not accessible by car but those around the house are not far from the parking.
Only one place for vans or ludospace. It is almost flat (I can lend you some wedges). It is not paradisiac (no view on the valley) but it is possible to eat in the garden :)

The sanitary facilities

Bathroom available at all hours (discretion appreciated at night) with sink, shower and toilet.
For the shower, the boiler being cut in summer, it is necessary to warn me at least 15 mn before so that I put the water to heat.
I am supplied by a captured source and a tank. It is thus advised not to spend too much time under the shower and to use it with a reasonable frequency (not like in the city ;) not to exhaust the reserves.
As my toilets are shared and I don't have any "maintenance staff" ;) their cleanliness depends on everyone ! Like at home :) I watch every morning but count on you to keep everything clean :)

No urinating on the ground... after a few days, it smells really VERY bad :(

A sink is available outside for washing dishes (ecological products only because the water goes directly on the plants).

The amenities

Possibility to have a WiFi connection on request.
Possibility to connect a charger or a cooler in the barn (a small financial participation is appreciated).
The kitchen is normally not accessible to campers (no criticism on its condition will be accepted ;) but, if needed, we can arrange it :)
On request, I can provide a fridge for campers who do not have a cooler. For the fridge or the connection of the coolers, a free financial participation (according to your use) will be very appreciated.

The activities

Activity n° 1 : hiking, starting from my house (I can propose you some walks with description).
But you can also do canoeing on the Dordogne, aquarando (from my house), first flights of microlight, mountain biking and all other kinds of sports activities in the surroundings (motocross and quads are forbidden in my house and very unpleasant in the whole valley - However, there is a circuit at 30 mn).
The region is also full of remarkable sites to visit.
And, of course, the famous country markets of Monceaux, every Thursday evening (market of the producers of the soil, barbecue, lottery, tables for the dinner, ball...)

--- New ! ---

- I organize, on request, training courses in green wood cutting (making spatulas, spoons, bowls... without using electricity). I provide the tools, but if you have your own, it's even better :) You just have to let me know beforehand so that I can prepare the necessary fresh wood (usually beech wood).
Free participation on a basis of 20 € per person for a two-hour session.

- Those who wish to learn how to build a dry stone wall (without any binder) or work with wood for eco-construction, can freely participate in my workcamps. Free of charge.

- I can also organize on request an aquarando trip (wild ascent of a small stream with some nice waterfalls). Departure on foot from my home. Count half a day of walk in the forest and in the river with a departure around 11:30. No particular difficulties, but you need to know how to swim and be in good shape. Bring good shoes that don't fear water, a small backpack, a water bottle and a picnic. I have a small waterproof container for papers and laptops. It is not essential but you can equip yourself with a helmet (not provided). Every day except Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. Free participation on the basis of 12 € per adult and 8 € per child under 15. The activity can be cancelled or moved in case of bad weather.

For all these activities, it is essential to talk to me before :)

I also propose a mini store with our productions (jam to be consumed on the spot, some vegetables of the garden when it is possible, wooden objects, jewels, postcards "house"...).

Other things

My cat lives freely around the house, full time. My dog too but part-time ;)

In general, if you like nature and simplicity, you'll be happy at my place ;)

My house is being renovated, so it's always a bit of a work in progress inside and outside...

Respect the calm, the premises, the plantations, the crops and the animals.
Use only biodegradable washing up liquid, soap and shampoo !!! Nature will appreciate it :)
Do not urinate (even discreetly ;) in the garden, the vegetable garden, the orchard or near the buildings... The following campers will appreciate it and me too ;)
Drive slowly (walkers, children and animals can be on the road).
No smoking, if possible (flexible rule for reasonable and clean smokers ;)
Except by special agreement, fires are forbidden.
Only very quiet (chickens live free around the house), silent and clean animals are accepted.
Please leave the premises clean and clean the sanitary facilities after use ((email hidden)Do not make (email hidden)Do not feed the animals directly (go through me).
Sort out the waste and take it to the containers at the top of the road.

Possibility of breakfast (€7 / person)

I propose for the interested campers to prepare a country breakfast. You can choose between tea, coffee, hot chocolate, cereals, yogurt, bread, jam*, sweet or salted butter, fresh eggs*, apple juice*, ortillade*, kefir*, cheese... (* All this organic and often home-made, depending on the production).
Breakfast is served on a table outside with a view on the valley or the garden, or at my table in the house if the weather is cold or bad.
It is also possible to book on the spot if you want less breakfasts than nights (in this case, bring cash for a payment on the spot) but not at the last moment, the nearest baker being 18 km away...

Land & setting
  • Superb welcome and a very nice place to camp in the middle of nature.
Thanks to Philippe for this evening of exchange around a friendly drink. We will come back for a longer stay

  • Philippe,

What more can I say than what has already been said in the comments?

A magical place, unique and out of time. I advise all those who wish to have a simple and rejuvenating happiness to stop by Philippe's place.

The valley is magnificent, the "natural" setting of the house as well. I could only spend one night there and I already hope to come back one day.

Thank you again for your welcome and your availability by message before my arrival.

  • Phillipe is a very warm person, available and very kind. The place was absolutely beautiful. You can go there with your eyes closed.

  • Lesdames is a unique and endearing place! It was a pleasure to meet Philippe, someone who has a great experience of the natural world and a great availability for the people he receives. Good luck with your project for the site!

  • Beautiful setting, very welcoming owner. We spent a very good stay "au naturel".

  • Very well spent. The place is located at 20min from a small village where you can eat etc. And you can go to a great waterfall nearby.
    Clean bathroom and toilet.
    Phillipe is nice!

  • Philippe lives at the end of the world and it is a real treat to share it with him. We spent 3 nights at the pond (one of the 2 sites at the bottom of his hill). It was very wild, as described on his page. We loved it. Water and toilet access is at the level of his house, so it's up the hill. There are other sites close to his house, so with more comfort.
The surrounding nature is superb and it is very quiet.
Philippe is a very endearing person, who has worked hard but has remained very humble. He also creates links between the different campers, with nice aperitifs.
And his green wood cutting workshops are a real relaxing interlude!
In short, we recommend him with our eyes closed!

  • We had an exceptional stay at Philippe's place! As much for the setting, which as much as to say it is a small jewel of paradise in the middle of the nature, as for the human meetings. Phil is an incredible person that you absolutely have to meet. His place is magnificent (especially in the early morning!), calm and restful. The welcome is warm, and the moments of life in small communities are precious. Philippe is always available for any advice on things to do and see in the region. He will also help you discover his artistic universe if you wish.

    To stay without moderation!

Thanks again for this meeting and these moments spent together.

  • Quietness just the sounds of nature. What happiness. Philippe is a very nice and cool person. Each camper has his own little corner of paradise and Philippe makes sure that everyone knows each other which creates an atmosphere and an experience that we loved. 2 weeks of pure happiness.

  • Perfect place with a beautiful view. Total disconnection and very warm welcome. Conviviality assured around a small welcome drink. We loved it and we will come back. Thank you Phil, you gave a great note to this beginning of vacations!

  • A magical place and a host of a rare simplicity and generosity. We were overwhelmed by the personality of the place and the welcome. We met people from all walks of life but with the same simplicity. We left with a lot of memories and we promise to come back one day.

  • Very pleasant stay with Philippe! Our site was located in the heart of a forest, no noise! We were able to meet Philippe and the other campers during a nice evening. For those who are looking for calm and serenity it is the perfect place. Thanks again to Philippe!

  • For a first experience of Garden Camping, we were well served. Philippe is very welcoming, and his site is very good for those who want to be in the middle of nature. We camped in the forest in an area that was set up to pitch a tent, with a fire pit. We recommend it.

  • We had a wonderful at Philippe's. A very nice, quiet place to stay. Philippe was a wonderful ghost, he gave us tips to do and also let us do our own thing.
Brilliant to see so many stars going to sleep and hearing the animals of the forest, to wake up and see the beautiful valley
    Very recommandable!

  • For those who are looking for peace in a preserved nature, Philippe's haven is exactly what you need...
Thank you very much. We had a happy stay with you Philippe, and corrected our oversight with a small mailing.
A little thought for Body and 2be???? our guests...

  • Small corner of paradise in the peace!
    Very good welcome from Philippe!
First camping experience at the top for my little wolf. Great time around the campfire with scouts present that day and a starry sky to fall down !
Don't hesitate, go to Phil !

  • Our stay at Philippe's house was a meeting experience! His kingdom is magnificent but listening to him tell his stories, his kindness will be what will have marked us!

  • Philippe welcomed us very well and the presentations were made, accompanied by an aperitif with the other campers. A great idea ????
Philippe is very helpful and very attentive. I recommend him.

  • Very good experience with Philippe.
    Secluded lot, very nice view.

  • We had a great time at Philippe's place. He welcomed us with a lot of sympathy.
Our 3 days spent were at the top and with the sun.
It is a magnificent place, that Philippe arranges and maintains with a lot of respect for the nature.
The view on waking up is superb.
Philippe is also very good at advising us on the walks in the area and the activities to do. In short, we had a great time and met someone very friendly, very good exchanges.
The children remember well 'bodi' and the wooden objects made by Philippe :)
    See you soon

  • Beautiful corner of nature

  • Great stay with Philippe. To be done again!

  • The setting was relaxing and pleasant, enough to recharge your batteries and forget your daily routine.
Philippe is a welcoming host who knew how to put us at ease, to propose us a nice hike, as well as interesting markets and meeting places.
We only have one regret, that of not having taken more time to exchange with Philippe...

  • We spent two exceptional days with Philippe. The setting is incredible, quiet, and in excellent company. To be repeated a thousand times.

  • Philippe owns a magnificent wilderness estate. We were welcomed with attention.
The sites are perfect with a magnificent view.
In short, going to Philippe's is a concept that we loved.

  • This place looks like a little paradise! We go back to the essential and we think that Philippe has understood everything! It was the last step of our vacations and it did us good! Don't forget the breakfast, it's great and take the time to get lost and talk with Philippe.

  • The stay was perfect and we are strongly considering returning.

  • A stay filled with beautiful nature, interesting meetings, all accompanied by a generous host. I highly recommend

  • Fifteen days of calm in a wonderful place, thanks to Philippe for his welcome

  • We had a very nice stay at Philippe's place, thank you for the welcome! We will be glad to come back next time and see the waterfall when the girls are older :)

  • Great stay on Philippe's beautiful land. Very warm welcome and inspiring to experience this way of life. - Margreet

  • I found at Philippe's what I came for: dominant nature, calm, simplicity of life and beautiful walks. The welcome is warm. Thank you for the stay.

  • A big thank you to Philippe. We will come back. :-)

  • We stayed only one night at Philippe's place but we would have liked to stay there
Beautiful nature and beautiful exchanges with our host and the other gamblers that we met quickly

  • Excellent: the man and the site are up to their reputation :-)
Tranquility assured in the middle of nature.
We spent two excellent evenings and a big breakfast chatting with Philippe and his gampeurs. What more could you ask for? Time to enjoy the surroundings, but that will be for another time, we hope.
    Claudia & Joël

  • We were very well received by Philippe! All promises were kept. We will be back with pleasure!

  • great stay at Philippe's place. If you like authentic nature, go there. But don't say it too loud so that there are not too many of us there either :-)

  • Perfect stay with a spirit which corresponds to us, the place is superb and moreover one can lose oneself there easily, what to ask for better, the children ask for more.
    Thank you.
    Philippe, Sandrine and the children

  • Excellent welcome. The surprising charm of a valley of Corrèze. Magnificent walks in the woods, discovery of a waterfall buried in the forest. Happy sharing with the other gampeurs (aperitifs, boletus fritters, breakfasts).
A small drawback: the surroundings of the house are rather neglected. It's a pity. But the warm and attentive welcome saved the day.

  • A very pleasant stay, thanks to Philippe and the other gambling families! The small initial worries (setting up the tents in the rain and the necessary change of location) were quickly forgotten thanks to their friendly help. The beauty of the landscape and the richness of the surrounding nature form a magnificent setting, an enchanting place. Thank you Philippe for this beautiful stay. We will be back very soon!

  • We wanted a change of scenery in an uncluttered setting where there were forest animals and calm. We were in a trapper setting in the middle of nature. We shared the ceps around the table with all the guests. A pleasant moment, simple and sypma. Thanks again Philippe and see you soon.

  • The splendor of the landscape is matched only by the kindness of Philippe! Our host is always happy to share his knowledge of the area and his love of nature. We like conviviality but also like to keep a certain independence, we were fulfilled at Les Dames! We highly recommend this gamping, a treasure! Thank you Philippe and see you soon!

  • First Gamping experience with Philippe, motorcycle crew of 2 people towards the Landes from Lyon, we stopped at Les Dames for one night. One thing is sure : the desire to come back for a longer time is there : magnificently restful setting, human warmth, simplicity...
Philippe knows how to welcome and share. He is a true adventurer, a jack of all trades, an artist and a committed person. It is clear that he has much more to offer than a piece of land to spend the night (although our night was excellent!) See you soon.

  • Super weekend nature, very good reception, to renew as soon as possible.

  • We spent a rejuvenating vacation in Philippe's high perched nest. Nature and simplicity, mixed with beautiful meetings and sharing.
Philippe is attentive and takes great care to make us discover every corner of his green paradise. Thanks again !

  • We would like to thank Philippe for his welcome, which was very well adapted to the surrounding area. We had an excellent, relaxing and enriching stay on a human level. Philippe's attentions towards the gampeurs are touching. For example, he prepared a hiking circuit around his home to discover different landscapes. We enjoyed our friendly exchanges. As a designer or a creative person, this is a very appropriate place to recharge your batteries in this beautiful place.

  • I had a very nice stay at Philippe's house. I felt immediately welcomed in a warm and friendly way! The place is a place of peace overlooking the Dordogne. A huge thank you to you, Philippe, and to your friends!

  • I keep an excellent memory of my two nights spent at Philippe's place. In a tent installed on a terrace facing a beautiful valley, which gives a magnificent spectacle on the starry sky at night. Philippe welcomed us in a simple and warm way at his house, and we met people from all over the world, in a very pleasant spirit of sharing. The house was always open in case of need (kitchen, electricity, toilets, shower). Philippe recommended us some very beautiful walks, and we also went to the waterfalls of Murel, in the area, which I recommend.

  • A first successful experience of "gamping", in the middle of a beautiful landscape, with a friendly host.
