Description

On the Natura 2000 site known as "de Vachère", in the Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon, you'll enjoy a wild location amidst the magnificent lavender fields of the Plateau d'Albion. In the heart of nature, but not far from the typical village of Simiane-la-Rotonde.
Magnificent forests right at the foot of Mont Ventoux.

The activities

At the south-western end of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence region, bordering Vaucluse, Simiane-la-Rotonde is perched above a plain at 650 m altitude.

Between Ventoux, Lure and Luberon
Simiane-la-Rotonde lies at the center of a triangle between the peaks of Ventoux, Montagne de Lure and Grand Luberon. Surrounded by the Luberon Regional Nature Park, the Albion Plateau and the Pays de Forcalquier, its terroir is at the crossroads of Mediterranean and Alpine influences: it is home to olive trees, which are nearing their northern limit, and fine lavender, which begins to be cultivated at this altitude.

Simiane, village of lavender and aromatic plants
Simiane-la-Rotonde is home to France's largest lavender and lavandin cooperative. During your visit to the feudal château, you'll discover the uses and benefits of essential oils in a dedicated area.
The château's courtyard features small gardens created with plants from Valsaintes Abbey, allowing you to discover the diversity of the local botanical terroir. When lavandin (mid-June to mid-July) and lavender (mid-June to August) are in bloom, the village overlooks the large, brightly-colored fields of this emblematic plant of Provence.

Activities: Hikes to Mont Ventoux, strolls through the woods and lavender fields, visits to the Colorado Provençal and the magnificent surrounding Provencal villages.
Siren Observatory at La Garde d'Apt to visit the stars, lavender festival at Sault, chestnut festival at Revest-du-Bion, swimming in the Gorges de la Nesque.

You can also discover Provencal gastronomy and local produce, including Côtes du Ventoux wines, Sault nougat and Banon PDO tomes and cheeses.
Candied fruit from Apt... A real treat!

Other things

The great outdoors awaits you to recharge your batteries...
To fill up on oxygen.
A beautiful view in front of the property.
In the heart of farmland, surrounded by fields of lavender, oaks and pines nearby.

  • Very well located in the heart of nature

  • Land in the heart of nature

  • A great experience for our first stay via homecamper.

A pleasant stay in the middle of nature, where we were able to put our caravan without worries.

  • Real place in connection with nature, no regrets, even the teenagers have loved this mini journey

  • We had an amazing evening and night on this beautiful property! The smells, the view and the calm! This plot of land in the middle of nature is ideal to relax and visit the area, just next to the beautiful village of Simiane-la-Rotonde! We found the land without any difficulty thanks to Newton's information. We recommend it with our eyes closed!

  • Nice and quiet place, with a nice view that extends to the distance. Large plot of land. We were surprised by the windy side and very very cool night. Good memory

  • Beautiful, wild, quiet place. Surrounded by lavender, thyme, Mont Ventoux, the sun, and a little place at the bottom of the rocky path, in the bend, where you can pitch your tent. And Newton is very welcoming. And Newton is very welcoming. Thank you.

  • Thank you very much for this beautiful place in the middle of the lavender fields... the smells in the early morning, magic... with in more a clear view which allowed us to enjoy a beautiful sunset. I recommend ????

  • Exceptional setting in the middle of lavender fields, beehives and a magnificent view. We can settle where we want and the ground is vast! A favorite for me, alone in the nature to admire the sunrise. I highly recommend the experience.

  • Jean-François' land is spacious; a haven of peace in the middle of nature, a place where you can really disconnect... Tranquility, calm, respect of nature: ecology in the true sense of the word!
a real little corner of paradise where Mother Nature is queen... where you can feel at ease even in your skinsuits! (Whether you are a naturist or not, be free to experiment "or not"!) It is a question here of freedom, communion and respect.
You really have to know that this place is only nature, if you are looking for comfort like in a camping it's missed; but the comfort here is to live with nature, it's even better...
We simply loved this place! See you next time because there are still a lot of beautiful hikes to discover in the magnificent Albion plateau!

  • Quiet place in the heart of the farms
