Description

A little corner of paradise on the edge of the forest between Metz and Nancy.

The setting

We welcome you in a pretty meadow surrounded by forest. In view of the last review I'd like to reply: if you can't find the toilets, we can be reached by phone (but so far everyone has found them except these people...there are 2 cabins, if they're not in the locked cabin it's because they're in the other one). The appearance of the land changes with the seasons and the latest photos are up to date and show the tall grass well. It's a choice to leave the terrain natural, and paths are cut to get around! If you're allergic to nature and looking for a soccer pitch mowed to the millimetre and concrete, don't come to us. There's the Metz municipal campsite for that, and the welcome there is very friendly too. Unfortunately, the access road is rather narrow, so we can't accommodate camping cars.
We may not be on site to welcome you, but we can be contacted.

The spots

We can currently accommodate a minivan and several tents.
A fire pit is also available, as well as a convivial area with a Home Made wooden table and chairs.
No fires outside the dedicated area.
If we're on site, we can offer to share an evening meal and/or lunch at extra cost.
More than just a piece of land, it's a real moment of sharing that we offer you.
You can bring your own equipment, or we can rent you tents for an extra charge.
The site is vast, so you can set up tents wherever you like. Vans can set up on the flat area between the 2 cabins.

The sanitary facilities

Dry toilets are available in the cabin, which is not locked. The locked hardwood hut is our storage space and contains a well that is not accessible in our absence.

The amenities

We can supply camping crockery on request.
Tents and mattresses are extra. Electricity available at the center in the new common area.

The activities

Numerous hikes are accessible from the property.
25 min from Metz and Nancy. Lac de la Madine is 30 km away.

Other things

In addition, if we are on site, we offer breakfast or dinner around the fire. 15€/pers to be paid on site.

Rules

No noisy parties, there are neighbors and our friends deer, wild boar, frogs and owls appreciate the quiet, even if they can be a bit (email hidden)But after all, this is their home...
We open our land to share convivial moments, so good humor is a must. Pets are welcome. But don't hesitate to contact us if you have any special requests.

  • The location was great and communication with the host quick and efficient!

  • on a touring bike trip,

great welcome, the children loved the host who showed them the different areas of the site.

    friendly site with facilities

  • Jessica is a very attentive and caring person.
The place is very natural with great potential for original evenings under the stars.

  • Access to the site is complex, as the GPS, depending on which side you're on, takes you down a forest road, which ends up too narrow to reach your destination. We're traveling in a minivan and were worried that we wouldn't be able to turn around. It would be useful to specify access to the site from the right side of this forest road when booking. Prior to our arrival, the address and gate code had been provided to us via Whatsapp as the owners were not present. We were surprised to find that the photos provided on the website in no way reflected the current state of the site, especially and including the aerial presentation photo. In fact, the entire site is overgrown. The ground behind the hut is littered with rubbish. The common area, described as a convivial space, is in fact unusable, with camping equipment (cutlery, plates, dirty aluminum trays, children's games, etc.) left abandoned, as if the site had been left in a hurry. We didn't have the impression of being in the vast space shown in the photo (a meadow surrounded by a forest), but rather in a pitch surrounded by tall grass. We opted for this spot, although it was more expensive than the average price in the same region, because of the provision of a dry toilet. On our visit, we couldn't find any toilets. We assumed it must be in the hard-shell hut (on the left in the presentation photo), but the door was locked. This had not been made clear to us at the time of booking. We can only take one positive aspect from this experience: the place is quiet and secluded. In our opinion, and in view of the discrepancy between what was advertised and what was actually made available, the photos need to be updated and the price revised downwards. Indeed, in our case, the €31 night in a minivan for 2 people without toilet is indecent and made us feel robbed.

  • It was perfect. The grounds are a little piece of paradise. I highly recommend it!

  • Great welcome. Thanks ????

  • Great first experience for us!
We were welcomed by Virgil, who was available and attentive, and gave us a very clear tour of the property.
The place is on the edge of the woods, with the possibility to make a fire, very nice!

  • Perfect!

  • Very good welcome from Virgil with a very nice fire, the place is nice, I spent a good night. Perfect !

  • We liked the place, great in every way, well adapted and equipped. Virgil's welcome with a small fire was great! Nice meeting! Very nice project. Thank you, we will be back with pleasure

  • Amazing!!! Site and welcome simply great. Thanks a lot,

  • It was a fantastic night at Jessica's and her friends place. We had a little fire and even though I don't speak French I had a wonderful night. Don't drive down the road to far, I was didn't see the entrance at the first glance and had a little adventure with my little car. For a weekend out of the city or if you are just passing by, I definitely recommend to stay there. Thanks a lot, I hope for one of your cool stickers :D
