Description

True Off-the-Grid Desert Camping

The setting

My land is desolate and empty. This is a property for those who really want to experience the (email hidden)Camp under the stars, near the Salton Sea. You will be surrounded by the mountains and endless earth. There is nothing else except the stark beauty of this completely undeveloped landscape. However, you are 5 miles from Bombay Beach, 8 miles from Niland and Slab City. Take a day trip to Palm Springs , Joshua Tree, or the other side of the Salton Sea. Go off roading! Hike the Chocolate Mountains! Lay on one of the beaches along the Salton Sea. There’s so much do if you are open to the total experience of what desert life can provide. You never know who you will meet!

The spots

There is no shade. The ground is mostly flat, with washes and pits depending on recent (if any) rainfall. As you get closer to the Salton Sea, the "beach" is sandier and softer. There is no limit to tent size or caravans/motorhomes - just be sure that whatever you bring onto the land you are able to get off when you leave.

The sanitary facilities

There are no facilities. Please pack-in and pack-out.

The amenities

This is barren, vacant, desert land. This is a campsite for experienced campers who want a minimalist experience and to relax using their own resources. There are no other amenities, until you drive into town. Niland has gas stations, restaurants, and food stores. Bombay Beach has a bar/restaurant.

The activities

Hiking, Shooting, Art, Exploration, Sailing.....the possibilities are endless!

Rules

There are wild animals. Do not let your pets run off (email hidden)No fires on the ground. The region is very prone to fires, since it is desert and there can be high winds. Please pack out any flammable materials.

Avoid the deep ditches and camp on level land. When it rains the ditches flood out very quickly. You will get stuck...or worse. Use common sense when pulling in with your vehicle. There aren’t a lot of people nearby who can tow you.

Do not shoot any of the wildlife.
