Below the Zabelstein is the charming hamlet of Neuhof with an exciting archery parkour and an adventure farm.

On hot days, the natural swimming lake "Gipssee" near Donnersdorf offers refreshing cooling. When it comes to culinary delights, the inns in Falkenstein and the surrounding villages are recommended. A special highlight is a wine tasting at Falkenberg or watching the winegrowers at their work. For day trips, the cities of Gerolzhofen, Volkach, Würzburg, Schweinfurt or Bamberg are suitable, with their many attractions. In Falkenstein, an idyllic district of Donnersdorf, the Dörflein family runs their winery in one of the most beautiful vineyards in Franconia - the Donnersdorf Falkenberg. The charming vineyard cottages give the small vineyard plots a special atmosphere. The vineyard site is located in the middle of the Steigerwald wine panorama and between the charming cities of Würzburg and Bamberg. The vineyards nestle on the sun-drenched foothills of the Steigerwald, directly below the Zabelstein, which with its height of 489 meters is an ideal destination for hikers and cyclists. The Dörflein family is already in its fourth generation of winegrowing and cultivates grape varieties such as Bacchus, Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner and Acolon. Through careful manual labor, they manage to harvest healthy, sun-drenched grapes that form the basis for fruity and expressive wines. Modern, cellar techniques such as cold fermentation help ensure that the quality from the vineyard is also felt in the glass. To truly appreciate the wines, be sure to taste them.   • Very good! Communication with our host pleasant, before and during the stay, excellent location, situation corresponding superbly to our expectations. A perfectly flat meadow to park, freshly mowed, clear view, for us alone, at least at this date in early July, no "visible" neighbors either... On foot, less than an hour from the "Zabelstein". We were in "personal autonomy". Small quiet roads and paths in the middle of vineyards and woods led us with our dog directly into the surrounding forests. The hiking trails were very well signposted. The "civilization" not too far away, but very green and quiet place! A haven of peace! It is with great pleasure that we will certainly return one day
