Description

In the part of my quite large, beautiful garden facing the house, which borders on a protected landscape area (lots of greenery for the eye) you can camp, sit down at the table, make a fire in the fire bowl, barbecue with the swivel grill.

The setting

The garden is quite quiet for urban conditions and beautiful to the eye. But you can hear a quiet motor noise, because we are not in a lonely landscape here.

The spots

Since you can only get to the garden via a (good) staircase, it is only suitable for tents. A tent can be easily set up on the soft, green, level lawn. The garden faces south, so it has a lot of sun in summer. But from the east and west comes (depending on the time of day) shading from houses and walls, and in the garden itself, besides beds and lawns, there are trees that give shade. Electricity is available near the campsite.I can give a cable drum to it. An outdoor water tap is about 8 meters further than the socket. There is a pre-cooled compressor cooler at the tap for your use.

The sanitary facilities

You could share the toilet and bathroom in the house (7-23 h). Both are on the first floor. Outside is an always accessible tap with cold water.

The amenities

Directly around the house also outside the w-lan works, but the further away from the house, the worse.
If you do not have your own stove and camping utensils, we can talk about whether you share the kitchen.

The activities

I have a bike to lend (7 euros a day). With him you are very mobile here and can discover the city and the Rhine. An official bike rental station (billing by the hour and via an app) is three minutes walk away. By bike it takes a little more than 20 min. to the city center, by streetcar as well. It's a 10 min walk to the suburban train station and a 10 min train ride to the main train station, from which it's a 10 min walk to the city center. There are in Mainz as big attractions the Gutenberg museum, the more than 1000 years old cathedral and the church St. Stefan, which is the only German church with famous windows by Chagall, also a beautiful, very modern synagogue and an old, Jewish cemetery. (Recently Mainz became a World Heritage Site as part of the Schumstätte, as it was an important Jewish center in the Middle Ages. The two other Shum cities are Worms and Speyer).
It is also important to note that 30 km north of here begins the World Heritage Site of the Middle Rhine Valley with castles, beautiful curves of the Rhine, steep slopes on the Rhine, cable cars, Loreley, Rüdesheim, sleepy Rhine villages, and so on. You can get there easily by train, also by boat. (Car and bicycle are also possible).
Otherwise, there are quaint , old wine taverns , lots of culture here in Mainz, the neighboring city of Wiesbaden directly on the other side of the Rhine.
From Mainz you can quickly drive by car to the hiking areas Taunus, Rheinhessen, Hunsrück, Soonwald, Donnersberg, Palatinate. You can paddle on the Lahn (for example near Weilburg). 28 minutes by car is a natural swimming pool (Bingen). 46 minutes away is a beautiful forest lake for swimming. 41 minutes by car is the equally beautiful Altrheinsee. In 7 minutes by bike you can reach the Mombacher swimming pool (outdoor and indoor).

Other things

The streetcar station is three minutes walk from the property. It takes 20 minutes to get to the city center.
