Welcome to South Mississippi! At Rose Creek Farm, you will have access to all that the Gulf Coast has to offer. From fishing to museums, great food, and family fun, you will find it all within easy driving distance from our Farm.
The setting
Enjoy Nature at its best. Wake up to a gorgeous sunrise, crisp cool air, and get ready to not only explore the Gulf Coast, but the small-town atmosphere of nearby Lucedale. If you want to stay in, there's always something to do at the Farm. We have several "quiet spots" that you can take advantage of to just sit back and enjoy doing nothing. At night, relax by the fire and stargaze while being serenaded by the tree frogs and crickets. The next morning, get up and do it all over again.
The spots
We have a couple of spots that you can use, depending on the size of vehicle and how you want to do things. As of now, there are 2 places to park for vehicles up to a 45 foot motorhome. We have a spot for smaller vehicles to access that provides more shade. For those who like to "rough it", there are a couple of spots you can access to set up camp with your tents... (although you may have a nosy cow come check you out).
The sanitary facilities
As of now, we ask that you pack out what you bring in. We are working on making things a bit easier, but for now (and with the prices going up on everything) we cannot accommodate showers, etc.
The amenities
We have drinking water available from our 100+ foot well.
The activities
You can enjoy the natural areas of the Farm as well as walk over to the main house and meet our friendly cows and chickens. We will have raised bed gardens going this Spring and anyone interested in learning how to make it all work can help out in our hands-on projects. There is the nearby town of Lucedale, MS that provides you with several unique shops and restaurants as well as parks and events to enjoy throughout the year. Travel about 30 minutes and you in Mobile, Al. or go the opposite direction and you'll be in Pascagoula. add another 20 minutes and you can be on the beaches of Mississippi's Gulf Coast and the Biloxi/ Gulfport areas with all that they have to offer. Need more personalized info? Ask your hosts. We will gladly share our knowledge of South MS.!
Other things
While you are more than welcome to enjoy the natural beauty of our Farm, please be aware that Mother Nature has some potential hazards out there. Like John Wayne said in Rooster Cogburn, there are things that will " bite, stab or stick you" out there. Enjoy Nature, just be aware of your surroundings.
