I'm a bit of a lone wolf who occasionally likes to be visited by independent people.
I like to welcome and be of service, in all humility and at my own pace.
Please note: this house, where I arrived at the end of April 2022, and its grounds, are still undeveloped.
I need help with small and big jobs, which would be easier to do with 2 people or are too difficult for me, and which I don't do ...
I would have liked to trade the nights for your help.
But on the site, I can't reduce to 0€ what I'm paid, nor can I remove the management and insurance fees that you pay and I pay too.
If you're interested, please ask me what needs to be done for your dates (2 weeks in advance), and photo updates if necessary (last update May 15, 22). If you're really helpful, then we'll work something out.
The setting
It's in a small cul-de-sac high above the village, with very little movement, punctuated by the barking of 2 dogs opposite... It never lasts long. They're mostly after the cars, and the neighbors' cats.
The sloping terrain (with flat corners and a flat, stabilized parking area) looks east/southeast towards the village below.
Lots of grass (very tall and hard in summer) and lots of trees too.
Above, in the surrounding area, are fields and a cow and sheep farm.
A street lamp in front of the house gives a glow (turned off from 11pm to 5am) but doesn't light up the field... the starry sky is magnificent in this area where the air is very pure.
The spots
I can imagine accommodating a maximum of :
- 1 camper/van (up to 3 people)
- maximum 4 people in tents
A total of 6 people seems to me the maximum limit (van and tents combined).
In my opinion, there are
- 1 pitch for a vehicle: camping car, van or your own car... This is the gravel parking area.
- possibility of 2 tent pitches... To be created by the first people to show up.
The sanitary facilities
These are mine, in the house, 4 steps up from the front door, to which I can give you a key if trust is established and against deposit.
Water closet, washbasin, hand shower on bathtub.
Possibility of using dry toilets and mini camping showers (shelters are not available).
The amenities
4G works fine.
In wifi, the adsl box works well (fast) but it's not accessible from the site... So wifi indoors or close to windows outdoors.
I'd like you to be as self-sufficient as possible in the kitchen, although I can help you out. I now have a fridge and the possibility of freezing ice loaves. The old fridge is plugged in the cellar, far from the property but available.
I would like to have electricity outside my home. There should be a cable, but it won't go all the way to the back of the lot. Phones can be charged in the bathroom if that's more convenient.
Ditto for waste water = in the WC (if that's ok?) - I've started composting dry toilets.
I'd like your financial participation to cover my extra costs for water, electricity and heating (water is currently on oil) - I currently only receive 3€ per person per night, which doesn't cover intensive use of these resources (quite expensive in a rural desert).
The activities
I'll leave you to find out what activities are available within a 20km radius (cycle touring circuit). There's not much in the village apart from a few wash-houses and churches.
I'd rather invite you to recharge your batteries.
I can offer you, if you ask in advance only, my skills in well-being and personal development: massage, meditation, Qi Gong, creative clay modeling, improvised singing, NVC practice... By appointment only, for a fee.
And of course, DIY and gardening are on the program as much as you like.
Other things
I'm a slow-moving, quiet person who gets tired (I can take breaks unexpectedly / fibromyalgia-fatigue) and, for this health reason, I respect many dietary exclusions, which means I only eat what I cook and don't share it. With each of us having "our own bowl", we can share convivial mealtimes.
