Rules

Speed limit in 5 ½ MPH at all times in the park.
Quite Time is 11:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. daily.
Curfew for campers under the age of 18 is 11:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. during the week, 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 a.m. Fridays, Saturdays.

Park Rules and Important Information

The guest assumes all risks and danger incidental to the activity of camping in a rustic outdoors
environment including specifically (but not exclusively), the danger of being injured by insects
or other animals, of being injured while participating in recreational activities, such as hiking,
swimming or boating at the Camp-Resort or of being injured as a result of inclement of weather
conditions, and agrees that the Camp-Resort and its owners, agents and employees are not
liable for injuries or property damages resulting from such causes.

Entrance into the park property constitutes permission for the management of Lakeshore Camp
Resort Portage, IN to photograph the visitor while on the premises and to use any resulting
pictures for any lawful purpose without compensation to the visitor.

In the event of severe weather: You should seek shelter in the nearest Comfort Station or in
the down stairs Ranger Station. As weather moves in you should close your awning, and put
away and items that can be easily blown away. If there is a tornado warning issued for the area,
a siren will sound. If you hear the tornado siren you should seek shelter immediately. Your pets
are welcome to seek shelter with you, they must be kept on a leash and under your control.

Park Rules
1. Park speed is 5 1/2 MPH at all times. Strictly enforced.
2. Alcoholic beverages must be kept at your campsite. Alcohol is not permitted in common
areas. Glass bottles or containers of any kind are not allowed on common ground.
3. Fireworks (excluding sparklers) are not permitted within the camp resort, any use of
such fireworks will result in a fine and or removal from the resort.
4. Please leave the campsite as clean as or cleaner than when you arrived. All garbage
must in in a garbage bag and placed by your site post. You can also dispose of your
garbage at the dumpsters located outside the park entrance.
5. Please camp on the site assigned to you by reservations staff, campsites are to the left
of the site marker.
6. Bicycles are not permitted after dusk unless it has a working light and reflectors.
7. Do not wash dishes or pets in comfort stations.
8. Only swimwear and white tee shirts can be worn in the pool areas. Children using
diapers, must wear a swim diaper when in the pool. They can be purchased at the
Arcade Room.
9. Do not move tables from site to site, do not move the fire ring from where it is already
located.
10. All minors must be on their lots by 11pm Sunday through Thursday and midnight on
Friday and Saturday. They may only leave the lot after curfew if accompanied by an
adult.
11. QUIET HOURS 11pm to 8am
12. No loud or offensive noises, no profanity or abusive language is permitted. Any noise
generating equipment such as TVs, radios, etc. may be restricted in their use as directed
by management.
13. Pets must be on a leash at all times, pets cannot be left unattended, and all mistakes
should be picked up.
14. Pets are not allowed in comfort stations, rental cabins (excludes pet friendly cabins),
swim areas, ranger station, pavilions, playground, courts, Picnic Basket area or around
the swimming pools or beach areas, unless certified service animal. Pets are permitted
to swim in the lake, outside of designated roped-off swim areas.
15. Guest under 21 yrs. of age are not permitted at adult pool or adult beach.
16. All swimmer's and boaters are subject to lifeguard rules and directions. Swimming is
confined to the designated/roped area in the lake.
17. DO NOT ride bikes or drive golf carts through the automatic gates, or on Old Porter
road. We are not responsible for injuries or accidents.
18. Camping guests are only allowed one vehicle on a lot unless they are tent campers or
seasonal renters (rent three or more months) when the parking area on the lot they are renting can accommodate two vehicles. Tent campers are allowed to have two vehicles.

No parking allowed on roads or grass.

19. Parents are responsible for their children’s behavior and compliance with all park rules.
The same applies to your visitors.
20. Firewood from ash trees ARE NOT PERMITTED IN OUR PARK. A Fine may apply.
Campfires should never be left unattended.
21. You must be 21 years of age or older to rent a campsite, someone 21 or older must stay
for the duration of the camping reservation.
22. You must be 21 or older to rent a golf cart from the rental booth. Guest 18 years old or
older may drive a rental cart if they have a valid driver’s license.
23. Guest are permitted to bring their own golf cart to the camp resort. Golf carts must be
registered, and are required to have proof of liability insurance, working lights (front
and back), and a working horn. The registration sticker is good for the entire year.
Anyone staying longer than 2 weeks are required to put their site number on both sides
and rear of the cart. Anyone 14 or older with a valid state I.D. can drive a privately
owned golf cart
