Description

Residential woods in which I live in my tiny house.

The setting

Residential woods.

It's rather quiet but there is a train track in the back which runs about twice per hour during the day (less often during the weekend).
The front and back of the land is not fenced off; pets are welcome (with no extra charge) but you must ensure they don't run off. (I can lend you a 50 meters long rope if necessary.)
There are sometimes wild pigs roaming around. (They mean no harm.)

8.6 km from the Mariembourg train station.

The spots

You are welcome to camp with a tent (in one of 3 designated spots) or hammock (with tree-friendly straps, min. 2 cm wide so no cords, anywhere on the land).

The sanitary facilities

You will have to bring your own drinking water, you can either use the composting toilet in the rear-right corner of the land or dig poop holes (shovel available). Pack all non-biodegradable garbage with you. There is a hot shower outside (with no privacy fence).

The amenities

Power is available outside

The activities

GR12 long distance hiking path runs close.

Within 15 minutes drive: Fondry des Chiens (beautiful walk or hike), Lacs de l'Eau h'Heure (swimming in the lake, diving, adventure park), Les Grottes de Neptune (caves), Brasserie des Fagnes (local brewery), Escalade Maisselle (outdoor bouldering, bring your own gear), Carriere de Rochefontaine (diving), Karting des Fagnes. There is a different food market every day except Monday

Situé dans le Parc Naturel Viroin Hermeton

Other things

Be respectful to the neighbors.
Leave no trace

Rules

Be respectful of the neighbors: no loud noises after 10 p.m., no loudspeaker at any time, keep your pets on the property.

Fire pits are not allowed. I have a fire bowl that is usually available upon request though I cannot guarantee that you will be able to use it.

Nudism is accepted as long as you are far enough in the back where the neighbors don't see you.

Most importantly: leave no trace! That means leave the space at least as nice as you found it.
- Don't leave any non-biodegradable garbage (take it with you)
- Minimize your impact on the local plants: avoid stepping on young trees, don't put your tent on plant life (except ivy), use hammocks with tree-friendly straps only (min. 2 cm wide; no ropes)

Ne laissez aucune trace lors de votre passage.

Extras

Tent ready

There is a tent which you can use. It is most comfortable for one person, but two would fit. You would still need to bring your own sleeping bags and mats.
