Description

Hello! We are setting up a permaculture micro-farm that will also be a place to relax and explore subjects that are close to our hearts, such as O-waste life, 100% vegetal cooking, low tech and ethical computing or well-being through movement. We have a small group of animals that actively contribute to the ecosystem, two sheep, two pigs, chickens and a cat.

We are still in the process of setting up the farm and are doing everything by hand or on foot (or almost!), to cause as little damage as possible, so we are moving slowly and the land remains "au naturel" in some corners, which for us is its charm.

The setting

You can enjoy a green space in the countryside and the very discreet presence of our animals, while remaining close to the sea, we are 10 minutes (by car) from the ocean. Beautiful family beaches are to the south and wild surf beaches, including La Torche, to the southeast. We are also close to the towns of Plomeur and Pont l'Abbé, the first supermarkets are 5 minutes away by bike.

The spots

We want to preserve the privacy of our guests and therefore we limit the number of pitches.

We have four pitches for tents. For your comfort we have put a coco cloth at each pitch.

We have two places for caravan / RV. As for the tents, we will show you several places with wooded options for the more adventurous. You can choose what suits you.

The sanitary facilities

24 hour access to:
Dry toilets x 2
A sink with running water
Solar shower in the open air

The amenities

Amenities include:
- Different options for showering: 1 x 20L solar shower in a small area set up for showering in the bamboos. We have created a bamboo screen but it is not completely blacked out - bring your swimwear anyway! :) There are also 2 hoses with shower guns that heat up when put in the sun.

Please use natural shower products such as Marseille or Aleppo soap, since the showers are in the garden.

- Kitchen: simple kitchenette area, with a sink, a kettle, a hot plate and a Kelly Kettle. If you want to keep your food cool, we can lend you a "desert fridge" which uses the evaporation of water to generate a cooling effect (about 15 degrees...won't be able to keep your ice cream! :) )
- A small manual washing machine (if needed, we can also provide our automatic washing machine and laundry for 2 EUR)
- Breton shuffleboard and Molky
- Electricity in the garden shed to recharge appliances (we are Enercoop customers)
- Surfboards and wetsuits for rent
- Bike rental and a bike trailer for children or your shopping possible

If you forgot your books, we can lend you classic novels but also books on permaculture, veganism, ecology and many other subjects (in French and English)

The activities

There are many hiking trails, chapels, and a wide variety of beaches to explore nearby. We will be happy to advise you if you have any questions.

If you are interested in yoga, you can join one of our on-site yoga sessions for a free fee. I am certified to teach yoga.

We can organize workshops upon request for those of you interested in permaculture, veganism, wasteful living, ethical computing. Contact us before you arrive to discuss your interests and expectations for a custom workshop.

If you would like a massage, please contact us in advance with the type of massage you would like. You can cancel a massage more than 24 hours before the massage. Otherwise we can recommend a masseuse in Pont l'Abbé.

In summer, the local markets and events are numerous and festive, ask us for information if you want to explore them.

You are welcome to spend time relaxing on the farm with the animals. The two kune kune pigs especially enjoy being rubbed on their bellies.

Other things

We moved to this farm a few months ago and with all the work and love we put into it every day, the land is still relatively wild! We still wanted to share our corner of South Finistère with other campers during the summer months.

Rules

We ask you to be conscious of littering as we try to be as plastic free as possible and cleaning the farm is very time consuming. Please do not smoke while you are on the farm. The golden rule is always to leave the place as you found it.

We are vegan and would be happy to let you explore (or share if you are too) our favorite recipes if you wish. We respect everyone's personal choices but ask that you do not barbecue meat on our grounds.

Animals have their own needs and desires, some of our animals are wary of humans, others are very fond of hugs. If you would like to meet them, please let us know beforehand, so as not to upset them. We make sure they receive proper nutrition, so please do not feed them. Children should not enter the animal enclosure without adult supervision. If you think your furry friend might attack our chickens or baby pigs, please keep them under your supervision.
Some of our animals are runaways (or curious about the neighborhood), so please make sure to close the wooden gate every time you enter or leave the grounds.

If anything is new, we are here to answer your questions and ensure your comfort as much as possible.

Extras

Possibility of breakfast (€7 / person)

Our breakfast menu changes quite regularly but we can offer a variety of vegan options such as oatmeal, seasonal fruit, toast with homemade butter, jam, peanut butter. All the products we use are organic.

Beverages include homemade kefir, herbal teas from the garden or even coffee alternatives such as chicory, barley or small spelt.

If you would like to discover vegan cuisine, we can arrange a lunch/dinner for 12 EUR per person.

  • We were looking for a quiet place to practice a week of fasting and we found this proximity to nature with a soothing and resourcing setting. The encounter with this place also allowed us to discover people in transition, committed, bearers of values and meaning, in short hosts who not only understood that the ecological transition could not wait but much more, a transition that they translate into concrete actions by pushing the concrete utopia to transmit their knowledge through training courses that should see the light of day very soon.
Long life to this beautiful project of ecological farm and do not hesitate to make a detour to recharge your batteries.

  • Katie was absent but her husband Won received me very warmly. A beautiful place still a bit uncultivated (but which will probably have changed a lot by next summer).

  • Katie, thank you for your welcome. For me it's normal to respect the place where you are staying. That's how you find nice places and nice people.

  • Katie being absent, it is Won, her companion who welcomed me with a lot of kindness.
I pitched my tent in the small wood, on a site that is both natural and comfortable (soft coconut mat under the tent!!!)
This home camping is very well located.
I especially enjoyed the discussions with Won and the choices Katie and Won made. I can't wait for their internship place to be finished so I can come and learn about smart ecology in everyday life.
Thank you so much for this stay!

  • Great week in a quiet and relaxing area. Ecological, practical and pleasant facilities. We were more than welcomed and advised on the region and its surroundings! Moreover the location is ideal because close to shops, beaches and hiking. We would love to go back to check on all the animals!
    Thanks to you !
    Salomé Léna and Romane :)

  • We had a great experience, thank you Katie. We will not hesitate to come back if the opportunity arises. The welcome was very warm and we were seduced by the ambitious and meaningful project. Bravo, nice job to you both!

  • We had an absolutely fabulous stay. Everything was incredible: incredibly kind hosts, who generously share their inspiring ecological lifestyle, adorable animals, a beautiful place, full of magic, magical places under the trees, and a magnificent permaculture-herbalism-yoga project that we can only dream of taking part in. I must say that the place is a real paradise for children, my son loved it :) Special mention to the delicious vegan breakfast!

  • We had an idyllic stay with Katie and her husband who welcomed the three of us to their beautiful grounds. We pitched our tent in a secluded spot under the trees, quiet and shady. The dry toilets, the kitchen area, the solar shower, and of course the delicious company of the little pigs Arsène and Lupin, everything was perfect! We also enjoyed a homemade vegan breakfast that was absolutely royal. Thanks for everything and see you soon I hope!

  • We were just passing through for a night! We can only recommend their campsite. The pitches are insulated with coconut fibre, dry toilets, solar showers...everything is there...the discussions around their project are very enriching. we will return...

  • One place, with solar shower and dry toilet.
    Friendly and welcoming hosts.

  • Hello
If you like adventure, you have to come here!
Even more so if you have children. We slept under the stars for the first time because we are in the forest or wild grass in complete safety. Very nice experience that can be nice with little ones. In search of Robin Hood. But of course it is possible to pitch the tent.
    Very pleasant and benevolent welcome.
    Kitchenette at disposal, very practical.
On the other hand, the ground is rough and dented, which is very good but not easy to access for handicapped people, but that's what makes its charm.

  • Very nice welcome, place conforms to the description and that's what made us choose it! With our small caravan and our two small tents we were well installed with many conveniences. The kids loved it, we will come back I hope! We hope to come back! Thank you!

  • Katie and her partner were very welcoming and did everything they could to make sure we had everything we needed: they offered us several places for our tent, recommended us lots of nice things to do in the area, it was very nice!
Their farm is a warm and meaningful place that makes you want to stay longer to see their little pigs grow up ! :)
    We strongly recommend, without hesitation!

  • Katie and her husband were wonderful and generous hosts. They are starting an inspiring project on their property which is a short drive from the Torch but also close to lots of shopping - I found this very convenient. The farmhouse they are renovating is a beautiful stone house. Katie was kind enough to give me a last minute yoga session when I told her my back was tight after surfing, it was very relaxing. I even tasted the vegan meal they prepared in the evening and am thinking of making some changes to my diet! The terrain is still wild with lots of trees and spaces to explore. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed stay in the Pays Bigouden!
