Description

Come nestle beneath towering pines on this Ridge in the Foothills, a rustic, laid back place to rest and recharge during visits to historic sites, swimming holes, legendary downhill trails, waterfalls, meadows, and mountain roadhouses, just off Highway 49, a mere hop across the Yuba River from the Gold Country gems Nevada City, Downieville, and Alleghany.

The setting

This is a small, sun-dappled homestead in the foothills, tucked in the shade of a towering forest of fir and pine. An authentic, remote mountain neighborhood, complete with passing logging trucks, Sunday morning gunshots, and the occasional passing bear cub. Unpretentious, easygoing, and peaceful.

The spots

Here your party is welcome to make use of a converted schoolbus among the trees, complete with sink, counter space, foldout futon bed, and wood burning stove. This space also contains a causal outdoor daybed and an outdoor shower. The shed house is also available, which is a small unit with woodburning stove, small indoor kitchen, loft bed, and private outdoor shower. Additionally, there is space for a van, RV, or car-camping.

The sanitary facilities

We use a humanure composting toilet system. A private, indoor space to do your business. Outdoor showers are available with hot water as well as running water sinks in the dwellings.
