Description

Our site is located within a fenced private property but overlooking the mountains and forests of the same village. Our house is located at the end of this, but the campers have an independent entrance to the enclosure. The ground is padded with natural grass, always well maintained and suitable for use. At the moment we have no extra facilities, but you can make use of a barbecue area-wood oven and have breakfast in a dining room with wood-burning fireplace, natural coffee machine and television.

The setting

The sheep graze right on the farm next door, the hen and the rooster at the back of the farm and our dog Nina walks quietly around the land. From the land you can see the whole Larouco mountain range on one side and the village and its forests on the other. At nightfall, the light pollution is very low, so you can enjoy a very good astronomical contemplation. The air quality is also excellent.

The spots

The unevenness of the ground is degraded, being able to camp on the flat easily. The terrain is easily accessible from an unpaved but perfectly passable and flat track. At the moment the shade in the camping sites is not provided by trees, since these are still young, but in summer season several trees are distributed in the area.

The activities

Located at the foot of Larouco, perfect for hiking and enjoying its lakes and river areas and world renowned for being an iconic spot for paragliding. You can also visit the Celtic Hillfort of A Saceda, dating from the 6th century BC, the Hillfort of San Millao and the Roman City of Grou. The nearest village is 2km away, where you can find all basic services (bars, grocery stores, pharmacy, swimming pool in the mountains...). Located between Xinzo de Limia (12km) and Verín, both known worldwide for their costumes, masks and celebrations of the traditional Entroido in carnivals and for the Celtic and Roman festival of Esquecemento celebrated in Xinzo, where you can also enjoy the famous Polbo a Feira on the 14th and 27th of each month. At 50km from Ourense and its hot springs and only 16km from the Portuguese border and the incredible Festa das Meigas held every Friday the 13th.
