Atelier de Dafanti :
Jean Claude Fantinati, known as Da Fanti (born 1946, died 2022), began painting at the age of 10. His first paintings on stretchers date back to this period. Thanks to his Venetian mother, he discovered the greatest Italian painters, who gave him the first thrills of a passion that would never leave him. Every year, family vacations in Italy were primarily devoted to visiting museums, exhibitions and historical monuments.

For too many years, his professional obligations prevented him from letting this mad creative urge explode, but did give him the opportunity to visit most of Europe's greatest museums.
Meanwhile, the few paintings and drawings he produced reassured him that his faith was still intact.

In 2000, Jean Claude Fantinati set up his studio in Nîmes. He attended the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Nîmes for 5 years. He registered with the Maison des Artistes and became a professional in 2007.
He has taken part in numerous group exhibitions, where he has won several awards, as well as personal exhibitions, where he has enjoyed great success.

Between 2007 and 2016, he divided his time between two studios. One in Nîmes (466 bis chemin de blazin) and the other in Collioure (28 rue de l'égalité).

He traces his path along the paths of abstraction, a constructive, thoughtful abstraction in symbiosis with matter, color and movement.

He uses natural pigments, earths, sands from different horizons and recycled materials, mainly composites or plastics from the automotive industry. His canvases are named after the license plates of the cars from which he takes his raw materials.

The shapes and volumes of his canvases are similar to those of a sculpture. The symbiosis and harmony of his works are the result of a thorough technique.

A preliminary drawing is made from the elements he will introduce into the construction of his canvases. This is the kind of abstraction that leaves nothing to chance. He must think of his paintings as 80% finished before he even starts. His technique bears no repentance

The balance of his score is a real obsession, but at the end of the work, perhaps, we'll find a certain happiness...

  • Superb site on the heights of Nîmes, natural setting with all the services (and even more) that a campsite offers, plus peace and quiet. Many thanks to Anthony and Sabrina for their warm welcome, surely the best hosts of our trip.

  • It was perfect! Anthony and his family are such good hosts, definitely going back one day. 10/10 would recommend

  • We were warmly welcomed by Anthony, Sabrina and Andrée. Their property is pleasant, quiet, and has all the equipment a camper needs: fridge, hob, microwave, coffee maker... it's better than a campsite!
It's also thanks to you that our stay in Nîmes was a success: many thanks!

  • Very short stay in these pleasant surroundings. Very warm welcome

  • Ideally located near Nîmes, perfect for being close to everything without being in the city.
The site is very nice and clean, with everything you need to feel at home.

A very warm welcome, attentive to our every need and full of advice on good addresses.
As a bonus, a visit to the artist's studio of his late father, whose talent is more than recognized.

And last but not least, the turtles were a delight for the children.
I'd like to thank you sincerely for your welcome, and I'll see you soon if we come back to Nimes.

  • I had a Wonderful stay with Anthony and his very friendly family: Conviviality, Respect, Kindness... A perfect combo! The place is quiet and great, with all the amenities you need for a happy, no-holds-barred stopover.

A special mention for the visit to Anthony's Dad's brilliant Atelier: it's a thing of beauty! I was deeply touched by his Art and honored to discover it... I'd be delighted to come back on a future visit!

  • Very good stay with Sabrina and Anthony. A breathtaking setting, an extremely welcoming and kind family. A special mention for Antony's mom, who made my children so happy. The house is ideally located and Antony gave us lots of good addresses for discovering Nimes and the surrounding area. The swimming pool and the fridges are much appreciated amenities. I'll be back in a heartbeat. I recommend this place with my eyes closed.

  • I agree with all the previous comments. Thank you to this charming family for making such a lovely setting available to us. It's a great idea, giving Mum a social life; displaying Dad's recently deceased work is well thought out: hoping that future buyers will take an interest ????

  • We spent a Night, very good reception and keep the address if we pass by Nimes again.
    I recommend

  • A warm welcome. Lovely setting. Despite the rain we had a good night's sleep.

  • Many thanks to Anthony and his wife for their warm welcome.
We fell so under the spell of this haven of peace that we decided to stay an extra night.

    We'll be back with pleasure!

  • Great stay with Anthony! He and his family were very welcoming hosts. Both discreet and thoughtful, Anthony and his partner gave us ideas for walks in the garrigue and great visits in and around Nîmes. We were supposed to stay for one night, but ended up staying for 3! The place is calm and simple, just as home-campers like it. The swimming pool and surrounding terrace with its views over the countryside are very much appreciated. And we must add that Anthony's father, a painter from Collioure who has now passed away, left him his studio and a wealth of works, sketches, engravings... A little museum in the making, to be visited by anyone who loves Art and will ask Anthony to open the door of the Atelier!

  • A very warm welcome, remarkable comfort, top-notch friendliness! We'll be back for sure.

  • Thank you for the warm welcome and your kindness, your advice was perfect for discovering the lovely city of Nîmes, we'll definitely be coming back to see you one day!

  • We stayed in Anthony's tent to visit Nimes. Very warm welcome, ideally located 5km from the center of Nîmes yet in the countryside. Magnificent setting and, as a bonus, a guided tour of the magnificent works of his painter father. We'll be back with pleasure.

  • Very good welcome from Anthony, the site is large and well laid out, Anthony very available to facilitate the installation and stay, I recommend!

  • Thank you to Sabrina Anthony and her mother for an unforgettable stay.
    Very nice meetings
800 m bus ride to visit Nîmes on Anthony's excellent directions
    The painter's studio is splendid
