Description

Small, bucolic site in the heart of the Vosges Saônoises, away from houses, shaded, and close to a small stream (sometimes dry if it's hot).
Ideal for hikers, at the foot of the 1000 Ponds Plateau.
Dry toilets available, spring water officially "non-potable" (but which we've been drinking without any problem since we moved in in 2017) also available.
Our house is located 150m higher up, so no dwellings are visible from the site.
For additional services, please contact us or see for yourself.

The setting

Shady plot in a hamlet, away from the houses, in a hollow and close to a stream.
Parking is by the road, but you can occasionally bring your car up in front of the horse shelter to unload your belongings, groceries etc...

The spots

1 single pitch for up to a 4-person tent.
(Or several small tents, but only one reservation at a time for greater peace and quiet).

The sanitary facilities

Spring water (officially non-drinking...) to the house, and dry toilets about 50m up the hill.

The amenities

Grass parking at the bottom of the property
Dry toilets,
Garbage garbage cans available
Spring water (non-potable) to the house
Electric reel to dry toilets, on request
...
For other services, don't hesitate to ask us ; )

The activities

Ideal for hikes and walks in the Vosges, the 1000 Étangs...
Mountain Museum at Château Lambert

Other things

The village bakery has unfortunately disappeared, but there is still a bread depot (Auberge du Tacot).
The nearest bakery is in Le Thillot, 8min (5.2km) away by car.
The nearest shops are in Servance (Carrefour Express) or Le Thillot (Intermarché, Lidl, Aldi, Colruyt, Bricomarché....).

Rules

Respect for the site and neighbors, no littering, no fires... (Camping gas OK with care)
Do not feed horses or other animals (some are on special diets).

In short, common sense: )

Life in the countryside can sometimes involve noise and smells (horses, a farmer mowing, a neighbor clearing undergrowth, a woodcutter chopping wood, a rooster crowing, a herd of cows, a fox on the prowl, a dog barking, motorcycles thundering through the valley...).

Coming here means accepting the possibility of certain inconveniences that we can't always foresee.

The parking lot is by the roadside, but you can occasionally bring your car up in front of the horse shelter to unload your belongings, shopping etc...

The garbage cans are towards the parking lot:
Grey/brown garbage can = Household waste
Yellow garbage can = Sorting, plastics...

Pets are accepted if and only if they do not chase cats, horses, dogs, chickens...
If you have any doubts about your pet's behavior towards others, please refrain from bringing it.

We wish you a pleasant stay!

  • We camped at Sylvain and Vanda's for almost a week. Alone on our plot of land, out of sight, we felt all alone in the world. A zen atmosphere with the small stream and waterfall and a great calm, perfect for recharging your batteries. The dry toilets at the top of the grounds and the sink are the perfect complement to what nature has to offer.
Our hosts were welcoming and friendly, and remained respectful of our little space in the woods.
If we are ever in the area again, we'll be delighted to return.
The only minor nitpicky improvements are that a practical place to install the solar shower would be useful, and that the terrain is still a bit sloping, so you don't need a slippery clothes line ????.

  • Very nice little site with the spring that refreshes ;) sylvain and his companion welcomed us well for our night, we spent a pleasant night!
    Thank you

  • Everything was perfect, Sylvain made us feel very welcome, a fundamentally kind and caring person. His partner Vanda was just as gentle and warm. The grounds are very intimate and secluded, with a stream right next door. Falling asleep to the sound of running water is very restful. If you're looking for an intimate, secluded spot in the heart of nature, don't hesitate! The place is exactly as shown in the photos. We'll be back without any hesitation. Sylvain and Vanda only take one pitch reservation at a time, so you can be sure of a quiet moment alone, abandoned to nature!

  • Great experience!

Sylvain and Vanda are lovely hosts, who take the time to welcome you properly, to get to know you, and also to advise you on what to do in the area. You can tell they really want you to have a good time here.

The site is located just off the main road, but low enough that you feel totally alone. Perfect if you want to camp in a 100% natural, isolated setting.

There are paths leading directly from the site into the forest.

The stream that runs alongside the site not only adds to the enchantment of the place, but also provides a natural watering place that's very useful for camping. Other water points are available next to the owners' home. There are also dry toilets nearby, and the possibility of creating your own hole in the ground in the middle of the forest for the more hardy among us.

The terrain is slightly sloping, but we didn't feel it once we'd set up our 15m² tent, and it didn't prevent us from getting a good night's sleep.

The trees surrounding the pitch provide a naturally shaded setting, so the sun won't bother you in the early hours.

Thanks again for your warm welcome and for making this wonderful pitch available :-)
