Description

In a wild setting, in the middle of the forest, my partner, our two children and I welcome you to our home, where you can meet our Limousin chickens, our two Bourdonnais donkeys, our cat Fantôme and our dog Raya, the janitor of the place.
We've only recently moved in and are working on restoring the site to its original vocation as a place to live and farm.
You'll find a number of homemade products on site, including chestnut jam, syrups and sourdough bread (to be reserved in advance).
You'll be right in the middle of nature, at the start of several hiking and biking trails and just a stone's throw from beautiful waterfalls, while remaining close to many exceptional sites.

The setting

Nature and tranquillity guaranteed.
In the middle of the forest, your neighbors are birds, deer and hinds. If you're lucky, you might even spot a marten.
If you're looking for peace and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle and right in the middle of nature, you've come to the right place!

The spots

ATTENTION LIMITED SIZE
Access is not sufficient for camper vans over 5.5 to 6 meters long.

The proposed site is located on the edge of the forest, in the shade on a flat area. It's located upstream from our house, so we don't get in each other's way, but we're always available to answer your questions, guide you in your choice of visits, and chat.
You have direct, unobstructed access via the path that leads to our house.

The sanitary facilities

There are no sanitary facilities available.
There's no water on site either, but you can fill up at a public access point just before you arrive.

The amenities

The site is free of any equipment.

The activities

A number of hikes are possible from here.
A 10-minute walk will take you to the old Ménoire mills, and another 10 to 15 minutes will take you to the beautiful Gourlastine waterfalls on the Ménoire stream.
Two PDIPR (departmentally-marked trails) are available. The first, Au fil du Gô, passes in front of our home, while the second, Sources et Fontaines, starts in front of the church, a 10-minute walk away.
Other circuits are possible, on foot or by bike, and we'll be happy to point them out to you.
A short introduction to the local flora is available for those interested.
In neighboring Neuville, the sente aux cochons is a short 2 km walk on the theme of...pigs. Presented with a lot of humor, it's a walk for the whole family. There's a picnic area on site.
By car, you can reach a number of cultural and natural sites. In particular, you have access to four of Corrèze's most beautiful villages: Curmonte (15 minutes) with its 3 castles, three churches and three fountains, Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne (20 minutes) with its abbey church and half-timbered houses, Collonges la Rouge (20 minutes) which needs no introduction and Turenne (30 minutes) with its castle.
You can also visit Argentat (20 minutes) with its quays on the Dordogne and its gabarre outings, Meyssac (20 minutes) with its fortified old town, and Aubazine (20 minutes) with its Canal des Moines and abbey church.
You'll find many waterfalls, viewpoints like Riche de Vic (10 minutes by car or accessible on foot via the PDIPR Au fil du Gô), lakes like Lac de Miel open to bathing (15 minutes) and many other things to see and visit in our part of the country.

Other things

ATTENTION
Access to our site is via a dirt road about 200 meters long.
Vans longer than 5.5 - 6 meters are not allowed!

Rules

A few common-sense rules will enable us to live together in harmony.

First and foremost, we ask you to respect the site and the living creatures that inhabit it, be they people, animals or plants.

We welcome you in a natural and wild place, so we ask you to be very vigilant about litter (including cigarette butts). Garbage cans, sorting garbage cans and a container for sorting glass are available nearby. Organic waste can be composted.

Fires are not allowed. We are in a forest and recent fire disasters have prompted us to exercise caution. Thank you for your understanding.

Dogs are allowed under certain conditions:
- no dominant dogs: our dog is the guardian of her territory, so we prefer to avoid confrontations.
- Dogs are only allowed under constant supervision or tied up. Our chickens sometimes roam free, and dogs and donkeys have a long history of not getting on well together. Your dog could be injured if it were to disturb our donkeys in their meadow.
There are no restrictions for other animals, but if in doubt, ask us.

ATTENTION: Do not feed our animals without our prior agreement. Even if you think you're pleasing them, it's sometimes against their health.

Extras
