Description

OPENING AUGUST 2023
The family-friendly Aire de FRAIS PUITS is located in the heart of the Roman city of Orange.
At the crossroads of the A7 and A9 freeways, close to the N7 trunk road, and just a few hundred meters from the Via Rhôna and Via Veinaissia cycle route junctions, it's an ideal stopping-off point for any traveler.
The parking area includes 6 spacious 200m2, flat, shaded pitches with the possibility of electric hook-up (10 amps), as well as a fresh water supply from the well on arrival and departure. One bag of ice cubes (or 2) per day. Your free WIFI connection.
A hammock, tables and chairs for picnics and other activities are available in the shady park.
You're in the countryside, 1km from shops, 1.5km from the town center and 2km from the Théâtre Antique.
We welcome you by appointment from 12 noon.
Here are 5 places to visit during your stopover in Orange, Vaucluse:
The Théâtre Antique: Built in the 1st century A.D., it boasts a stage wall so well preserved that it still hosts a number of performances today, starting with the Chorégies festival of opera and lyric art, held annually since 1860.
The Arc de Triomphe: Guarding the gates of Orange, this Unesco World Heritage monument will catch your eye as soon as you enter the city.
The Palace, the Protestant temple and the many buildings erected between the Middle Ages and the 18th century, bear witness to Orange's influence over many centuries.
Thursday morning Orange Market: One of the most famous in the Vaucluse region, this market features regional specialties (early produce, handcrafted creations, wines, etc.) offered by over 300 traders.
La Colline Saint Eutrope: A pleasant stroll that takes you up to a green hill, easily accessible from the stairs near the ancient theater, offering panoramic views over the region, Mont Ventoux and the entire city of the princes.
