Come and discover l'utopie en Velay, a non-profit café-théâtre in the heart of an enchanting forest. A place for art and sharing, where you can learn and recharge your batteries.

To reach us, drive past the capital Velave, dive in with the Espaviots, then follow the direction of the bête du Gévaudan. Stop well in advance, before tackling the climb to 5 bis avenue Paul Bérard in Espaly Saint Marcel.

Welcome to our café-théâtre, where inspiring nature blends with artistic expression and a vibrant participatory spirit. Smiles are contagious, goodwill reigns and your coffee becomes a dance. Here, social ties are forged through encounters and artistic creations.

L'utopie en Velay is a place of possibilities, a veritable playground where you can express your creativity, share your talents or discover new art forms.

It's a learning space with workshops for exploring different artistic disciplines. On Mondays, practice yoga; on Wednesdays, enjoy an open-air cinema; and on Saturdays, discover our local artists.

But our café-théâtre is much more than just a performance venue. It's a place to recharge your batteries, relax or simply take the time to reconnect with yourself and others. L'utopie en Velay is a soothing, leafy refuge where well-being is our main concern.

The setting

L'Utopie en Velay is a natural setting just a stone's throw from Le Puy en Velay. And more exactly in Espaly-Saint-Marcel. It's a place of calm and relaxation where you'll find reading corners (hammocks, swings), cultural expression (open stage, art and well-being workshops) and social activities (café associatif), nature (shared garden, landscaping)... Water and electricity are available, as are solar showers, dry toilets and electrical outlets. Access is free. Being outdoors, you can come and go as you please.

The spots

The ground is flat enough to pitch a tent. Many trees adorn the site, so you'll be in the shade. The pitches are not accessible by car/van/camper (but you can park further down the street). The site is shared, so don't forget the rules of "living together" before coming.

The activities

Just a 10-minute walk from Le Puy-en-Velay, you can visit a town steeped in history and culture. At the start of the Route de Saint Jacques de Compostelle (GR65), climb to the top of the town's three must-see monuments (Saint Michel d'Aiguilhe rock, Notre-Dame-de-France statue and Notre-Dame-du-Puy cathedral). Espaly Saint Marcel is home to the statue of Saint Joseph, where you can visit its sanctuary. For more ideas for activities in and around the Haute Loire department, ask at your local tourist office.
