Description

I'd like to invite you to spend a day in my little bucolic garden, surrounded by horse-drawn carriages, flowers and birds, a stone's throw from the Chemin de Compostelle, with no immediate neighbors (unoccupied houses). The garden is equipped with a large table, a number of comfortable armchairs, 2 hammocks and outdoor access to drinking water. If you have any problems, you can count on me.

The setting

The garden offers nooks and crannies in which to retreat, and trees under which to shelter from the sun. It is flowered most of the year. The route de la creuse passes in front of the house, but the garden is at the back, protected from nuisances.

The spots

The garden is flat, with sunny and shady pitches. Pitches are designed for small tents (max. 3/4 people).

The sanitary facilities

Toilets are available on the ground floor day and night. Two shower rooms are available on the ground floor for economical showers.

The amenities

You have access to the internet and an electrical outlet for recharging your cell phone. You can heat your food in the microwave oven in the kitchen and store it in the fridge. You are free to use the spices and basic ingredients (oil, vinegar, sugar...) as well as the pots and dishes, and dry your laundry on the washing line.

The activities

Visit the surrounding villages, including Gargilesse, 6 km away, and St Benoît du Sault, which have been awarded the "Most Beautiful Villages in France" label. Also worth a visit is the remarkable 12th-century village of Cuzion, 2 km away. Here you'll find a multiservice store with groceries, fresh local produce, quality restaurants and a post office. All summer long, music festivals are in full swing, and it's practically possible to go out every night! Three nearby beaches offer swimming and fishing in the Creuse and Lac d'Eguzon. A number of walks start just outside the house, one of which takes you in just a few minutes to the magnificent medieval Château de Châteaubrun and its park of monumental contemporary sculptures.

Other things

You're in the Boischaut sud, one of the most beautiful regions of the Centre Val de Loire region, undulating with the Creuse River, and rich in biodiversity preserved by the numerous bocages (the "bouchures"), the presence of forest and the banks of the Creuse. At night, you'll come across deer and foxes. In the daytime, you'll find plenty of birdlife! Note: binoculars can be used to observe the rare raven nesting in the cliffs a stone's throw from the house.

Rules

Arrive between noon and 11 p.m., leave before noon.
Cigarettes allowed outside, but no butts on the ground!
Respect the garden, the cleanliness and the calm of the place.
Be friendly, but that goes without saying!
Use water sparingly, as there is a serious shortage in the region.

Extras

Cereals, toast, homemade jam, honey, butter, homemade goat's milk yoghurt, tea, coffee or cocoa.
