Description

Hello,
We are a friendly French-Spanish family living in the countryside, with 2 young children.
We travel on foot, on horseback, by bike and sometimes by caravan.
We love meeting new people, sharing and showing off, which is why we'd be delighted to welcome you to our home or to a plot in our garden.
Bonus: wine tasting from our little bodega!
Our house is one kilometer from the village, served by a communal path (dirt, stones). Uva, our lively little bodega dog (4 months old) completes the family.
As riders, we sometimes have horses in the paddock.

The setting

it's a house in the country, which means peace and quiet, or rather birdsong... the orientation and location allow you to enjoy sunrises and sunsets.
You can also see the stars at night, as there is little or no visual pollution.
The garden is planted with various species of trees and is very pleasant.
There's also a paddock for horses.
The vegetable garden.
a trampoline, swing and other children's play equipment.

The spots

The garden in front of the house (separated by trees) + on another side of the plot will be the pitches, the land is flat, sun or shade as you choose.
Access requires a few maneuvers, but nothing complex.
However, large 7m motorhomes/caravans may have difficulty maneuvering their way in.

The sanitary facilities

You will have access to a dedicated bathroom with sanitary facilities, washbasin and shower. Hot water - an 80-liter water heater - will be connected on site.
There's also a water tap and shower outside.
The water comes from a well and is NOT POTABLE (not recommended for drinking).

The amenities

There is no fiber internet at the house, personally we operate with our mobile packages.
The village is 1 kilometer away with internet access. (bars, library,..)
You will have access to an independent building with:
a kitchen with all the basics.
also a living room with fireplace.
wood-burning oven outside
electricity is provided in the building, there are also 3 outdoor outlets on the grounds. extension cords available.

Some services are extra and must be paid for on site
Electricity connection: 5€/day (10€/high season)
Washing machine: €2
Horses: to be consulted
Basic groceries available on site

The activities

Taste the wines of our small bodega! or the typical, very economical bars.

Children's games in the garden.

Lovely walks and bike rides nearby. Occasional outings in our horse-drawn carriage. Rivers and fishing lakes nearby.

Nature in Extramadura is beautiful and diverse. The fruit trees in bloom in spring are magnificent.

Many cultural and historical sites in the vicinity (direct or up to 100kms away), including
Mérida, Roman city
Cacères, Badajoz
Dolmen de Lacara
La dehesa extremeña
small Franco villages
Guadeloupe monastery

Other things

We also have a studio (2 to 6 beds) available for rental.

Rules

We are open and welcoming, and we expect our campers to respect our surroundings and each other.
Common sense!

Outstanding
  • We spent a night with our camper van in Albane and Bartolomé's very large garden/terrace. A little island of paradise and freshness, and a very warm welcome.

We only occupied a plot of land, but the premises are set up for accommodation in rooms, and there is access to charming indoor/outdoor social areas, sanitary facilities and all necessary amenities. There's also a pretty mule to delight the kids, and an adorable dog.
And for adults, good to know: Bartolomé and Albane have embarked on a bodega project, and the wine is very good.

In short, everyone was very attentive.

It was a quick visit, but we'll definitely be back!
