Description

Staying with us means experiencing life in the heart of nature.

We offer a secure environment and access to water. The rest is up to you.

The setting

In the heart of nature.
7 km from the villages of Rabouillet in the Pyrénées Orientales and Montfort/Boulzane in the Aude.
On a south/southeast-facing slope overlooking the Dessix valley.
Views of the Mediterranean coast (we're 54 km from Perpignan).
An isolated spot. The noises are those of nature (birds, wild boar, deer and the occasional wind), with the occasional chainsaw or tractor.
But the noise that most impresses our visitors is silence!
At night, the only lights are those of the moon and stars.

The spots

The land is terraced, with a large wooded area and the rest in meadows.
Access is via a dirt track off the D2.
To reach most of the pitches, you'll need to walk a few meters.

The sanitary facilities

We have a dry toilet available 24 hours a day.

The amenities

The mobile network is very unreliable.
There is no internet and no electricity.
Campers must be self-sufficient in terms of equipment.

The activities

Fishing (the Dessix has its source close to us) and hiking, horse-riding, cycling and snowshoeing in winter are just some of the activities on offer.
Our horses are available for experienced riders. For everyone, the equestrian centers of Sournia and La Folie offer great rides.
We organize excursions to discover the local flora and fauna.
You can also take part in our farming activities (planting, harvesting, etc.). We're happy to share our experience and knowledge.
Further afield, you'll find climbing and canyoning sites...
We're close to Cathar castles, abbeys and paleontological sites (Tautavel, Esperaza, etc.).
We border on Andorra and Spain.

Other things

We are market gardeners. You'll find fruit and vegetables on site. We're also happy to introduce you to other local producers.
For stays of a few days, we'll be happy to share a meal with our guests.

Rules

Respect nature, our plantations and our animals:
- Fire is forbidden. For smokers, we recommend depositing cigarette butts in a glass bottle filled with a little water.
- Respect water by saving it and not polluting it.
- respect the soil. Our horses graze on these soils.
- respect our animals: they are used to being treated with gentleness, firmness when necessary, but never with violence.

For your comfort and for our organization, we advise you to arrive no later than 4 p.m. and in any case (email hidden)You can even arrive in the morning. Setting up in the field at night is tricky.
The itinerary includes 25 km of mountain road.

Extras

Possibility of breakfast (€5 / person)

Breakfast to be discussed according to availability.

  • Good welcome from Jack and Isabel, if you like nature without any network you are served.
The only downside for us is the poor condition of the terrain when you have a van, but for some it won't be a problem.

  • This is one of those stays that leave a lasting impression, not only because of the location, its beauty and its peace and quiet (how quiet it is at night!), but above all because of the incredible welcome we received from Jak and Isabelle.
In just a few days, a friendship was formed!
We can't wait to come back!

  • Very pleasant time spent with jak and Isabelle. Magnificent view. Restful and idyllic setting

  • Only one word: paradise!

  • Very good reception and beautiful place.

  • Jak and Isabelle have a magnificent terrain, where the eyes can run along the peaks, through the forests, or land on the sea,
They are very warm and welcoming hosts, a beautiful meeting, thank you again!

  • What to say about our stay..... Great! Jack, Isabelle and Melissa are great : welcoming, very generous. They allowed us to spend a great vacation despite car problems and a sick baby......
A meeting that we will not forget, as well as the children who already want to come back! And in addition, the place is beautiful!
    Surely to a next one!!!!!
We hope to meet again soon to find the badger!

  • Superb corner of nature where we spent a very quiet night! Thanks to Jack and his family for their warm welcome.

  • Thank you Isabelle, thank you Jack, thank you Melissa, you have brought us joy and curiosity. We appreciated your warm welcome.
You have a beautiful and unusual place. Our stay will remain engraved for a very long time.

    Indeed, see you soon.

  • Jack and Isabelle are hosts who take the time to welcome you and talk with you. The facilities are very basic, which is easily solved with a little organization and simplicity. There are flat areas in the meadow to pitch a tent but we preferred to pitch our tarp in the woods in the middle of the wildlife. Big water cans were brought up to our location by the very calm horses.

It is also beautiful to see how Jack and Isabelle live in the middle of this nature and maintain their land and woods by hand and with the help of their horses. They are beautiful people and it was an unforgettable and enriching stay!

  • What we were looking for, to be able to camp as close as possible to wilderness camping, and as close as possible to nature. Very good welcome far from the current formatting of relations.

  • A beautiful experience of camping almost wild in the forest of Jak and Isabelle. Total intimacy, great welcome, beautiful place. A water point near the yurt of our hosts. 3 possible places to camp more or less isolated. If you are looking for a return to nature, this gamping is made for you!
